Marriage License

• Both parties must be present when applying for a marriage license.
• Both parties must have a government-issued ID.
• Both parties must be at least 18 years old.
  • Special process if 17 year old applies for a marriage license:  a 17 year old may petition the Family or District Court in the county in which the minor resides for an order granting permission to marry. KRS 402.205
• A marriage license is good for thirty (30) days from the date they are obtained.
• Fee:  $50.00
